KATHMANDU: Mobile and web apps developers along with local startups in Kathmandu will organise ‘DevFest Kathmandu 2013’ at Trade Tower Business Centre, Thapathali on September 28. Google Developers Group (GDG), Kathmandu, has announced its annual event — DevFest — inviting 200 Android and web application developers at one place.

According to Sapkota, DevFest Kathmandu is inspired by and uniquely tailored to the needs of the local developer community. There are plans to conduct speaker sessions and code labs on Android development, platform, Google App Engine, Google+, and Google Maps.

The organisers claim that the AdMob is a platform for advertisement in mobile applications and Google Developer Expert (GDE) will attend the DevFest to present and guide attendees hands-on . Altogether 12 speakers from local community along with GDE and speakers from GDG, India are delivering speeches across wide range of topics. Similarly, GDG Women Nepal — a sub-group of GDG Kathmandu focusing on women in technology — is conducting Android apps development workshop for women during DevFest.

Sapkota adds, “We’re also inviting Google Maps Regional Reviewer to give a presentation on how the Google Maps of Nepal looks so up to date.” According to him, GDG and DevFest are powered by a shared belief that when developers come together to exchange ideas, amazing things can happen. The event is expected to be participated by more than 200 technology
